SSOC of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Wraps Up its Training Program

Doha, October 18 (QNA) - With the attendance of HE FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Security Operations Commander HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Safety and Security Operations Committee (SSOC) of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 celebrated the conclusion of all its leadership and training programs at the Headquarters of National Command Center (NCC).
The celebration was attended by Chief Operating Officer of FIFA World Cup Colin Smith, including several senior officials and directors from various concerned entities and heads of units.
HE FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Security Operations Commander Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani handed certificates to the graduates of the silver level program and honored a host of women leaders, including several cooperative entities that are contributing to the success of the Training and Rehabilitation Unit's programs.
In addition, the attendees watched a film highlighting the efforts of the Training and Rehabilitation Unit and the phases made during the past period, including the most prominent training programs obtained by the participants in the security coverage for the tournament.
President of the SSOC's Training and Rehabilitation Unit Lt. Col. Fahad Al Subaie clarified that the achieved accomplishment and adherence to the training commitments came according to the specified time frame, adding that the training process during the past period was a primary and vital step in all programs to further upgrade the performance level of the participants based on the highest international standards, and qualify them to be capable of entirely performing all the missions assigned to them after being scientifically and practically prepared based on the best training practices, and they had undertaken all tests and practical applications by adhering to the highest standards according to approved curricula and programs from international universities and institutions, in cooperation with the states with most practical experience in organizing the major sporting events.
He said that the overall exerted efforts in qualification and training are candidly real translation for the vision of the wise leadership in the State of Qatar, which underscore the importance of investing in the human component which is one of the most important pillars for Qatar National Vision 2030, adding that the State of Qatar is now on the verge of achieving the ambition with the participation of the outputs of all programs, including leaders, trainers, and security and safety personnel, in an effective and distinguished manner during the World Cup, affirming that the work of the Rehabilitation and Training Unit will not end today, but remains persistent to further provide the support during the tournament for any supervisory, directional or advisory requirement.
The President of the SSOC also extended his thanks to all those who had contributed to the success of the training process from all the participants and the concerned entities, including all participating human cadres.
For his part, Deputy President of Rehabilitation and Training Unit Major Abdul Rahman Hamad Al Suwaidi clarified that all the participants in all programs obtained ample training and development dosages that primarily qualify them to move forward to the success in undertaking their missions, whether they leaders or security and safety personnel in the tournament, emphasizing that the slogan adopted by the Rehabilitation and Training Unit from the outset was the collective work which put the unit on an advanced rank at the level of professionalism, especially the training work aspects, especially the aspects of training, administrative and coordination work.
He pointed out that all the programs received the international accreditations and are implemented and overseen by Qatari nationals, adding that all those who have been qualified will represent a future legacy for the State of Qatar, whose skills and trainings were entirely documented in electronic data to be further utilized in the post tournament period.
By this accomplishment, the Rehabilitation and Training Unit should have completed all the essential training requirements for the safety and security force of the tournament with all categories, including the general security trainings and those associated with the tournament policies, measures, work sites and facilities, as the unit has announced its readiness, including the full preparation of all security forces to receive the fans entering the State of Qatar and secure this major event.
In addition, the unit announced that through the silver level program, 38 silver leaders were qualified, all of whom had participated in the international diploma program for the Safety and security of sports fans which aims to upgrade the level of participation from the leaders of silver level, as the diploma program comprises a plethora of training topics, including security and safety management of fans, risk management in crowded places, management of primary response for major events, etc.
Through the bronze program, 426 bronze leaders were qualified, including 28 leaders from the woman's component and includes fundamental courses in the development of lead skills and others.
Regarding the sense of security, 73 trainers from the men and women components were prepared, while in the international curriculum for the safety and security of sports fans, 180 security trainers from the men and women components were trained to further train the security and safety personnel from the public and private security, and the total number of trainees from the public security reached 32,000 trainees, and 17,000 trainees from the private security.
