Watan 2022 Exercise Launches

Doha, October 24 (QNA) - Watan 2022 exercise began today. It is organized by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy with participation from all military and civilian bodies as well as friendly countries. It will take place until Oct. 27.
The exercise implemented many specific tasks in all areas of the country, with the implementation of a deployment plan to complete all the exercises.
Head of the exercise Colonel Mubarak Sherida Al Kaabi said that all parties participating in the exercise were on standby before the start of the exercise, after reviewing the plans and implementation mechanisms in accordance with the established scenarios, and with the start signal, all the parties carried out their tasks to the fullest.
He said that exercise "Watan" aims at enhancing the role of the concerned authorities while carrying out their regular missions and additional tasks during the World Cup to assess the responsiveness in emergencies and enact the mechanisms of command, control and cooperation between military and civil agencies to achieve integration of their roles while accomplishing the missions.
He noted that the exercise, since its first launch in 2021, embodied the strengthening of close cooperation and the exchange of expertise and experiences with the forces participating in the exercise from brotherly and friendly countries, in a manner that ensures the strengthening of joint cooperation to implement the best security practices in organizing the safer World Cup.
