Yemeni-Saudi Commercial Technical Committee meeting began

SANA'A, June 06 (Saba) - The 7th meeting of the Joint Yemeni-Saudi
Commercial Technical Committee started its activities on Saturday.

The meeting co-chaired by Undersecretary of Transport Ministry Ali
al-Mota'afi and Saudi Undersecretary of Trade and Industry Minister
Abdullah bin al-Homoudi.

The Yemeni official affirmed the important issues which will be
discussed by the Committee to develop cooperation prospects and
increase trade exchange between the two countries, praising the
level achieved by the committee in facilitating goods flow between
the two countries.

For his part, the Saudi official expressed his satisfaction with the
decisions of the summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council) GCC), held
in Muscat recently, and the inclusion of Yemen to some institutions,
noting to the good results achieved by the committee.

The committee also reviewed the level of implementation of the 6th
meeting's recommendations held in the Saudi city "Jeddah" in
September 2008.

The two sides also discussed the difficulties that impede the flow
of commodities between the two countries and finding appropriate
solutions for them, in addition to operating the al-Wadi'ah outlet
for exporting agricultural and fisheries between the two countries.

It is worth to mention that the rate of trade exchange between Yemen
and Saudi Arabia during 2008 rose to 10% and amounted to YR180
billion of which YR150 billion Yemeni imports from Saudi Arabia.
