PHCC: Health Centers Receives Urgent, Non-Emergency Children +5 yo Cases
Doha, October 26 (QNA) - The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has called on parents whose children need medical treatment due to urgent but non-emergency cases to make use of the high-quality services provided by all the corporation's health centers without the need for prior appointment.
The Executive Director of Operations at PHCC Dr. Samya Al Abdulla said that the clinical medical teams in the Corporation's 29 health centers are ready to provide medical care to children aged five years and above who suffer from urgent but non-emergency medical conditions.
Al Abdulla indicated in a press statement today that urgent medical cases include respiratory infection, mild fever, and throat and ear pain. In those cases, parents can take their children, without prior appointment, to the health center where they are registered between 7 am and 11 pm or to any of the eight PHCC Urgent Care Units, which are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Urgent Care Units are available for patients with non-life-threatening medical needs and within the framework of primary care such as minor burns, sprains, severe headaches or earaches, high fever, dehydration and dizziness. In those cases
parents can take their children to any PHCC urgent care unit, 24 hours a day, regardless of which health center they belong to.
PHCC called on parents to take their children under the age of five, or who suffer from more serious medical conditions, or children with chronic diseases, to one of the children's emergency centers of Hamad Medical Corporation, while parents whose children suffer from a condition should Immediately call 999 to request an ambulance.
PHCC Urgent Care Units are available for children aged five years and above, as well as for urgent mild to moderate cases, and those who do not suffer from chronic diseases in 8 health centers: Umm Slal Health Center, Muaither Health Center, Al Ruwais Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Gharrafat Al Rayan Health Center, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Health Center, Al Shahaniya, Health Center, and Al Kaaban Health Center.
HMC Pediatric Emergency Centers (PEC) operate 24/7 for children of all ages, moderate to severe emergencies and non-life-threatening cases in 6 centers: Al Sadd PEC, Al Rayyan PEC, Al Wakra PEC, Al Khor PEC, Al Daayen PEC, and Airport PEC. (QNA)
