Yemeni Gitmo detainee body arrives in Sana'a

SANA'A, June 06 (Saba) - A 31-Year-old Yemeni detainee's body has
arrived in Sana'a coming from the U.S prison at Gunatanamo Bay,
Cuba, where American military officials said the prisoner has
committed suicide in an apparent.

Well-informed sources said on Saturday that Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah
Saleh al-Hanshi's body reached Sana'a in a special American aircraft
accompanying with the political official of Yemen's Embassy at
Washington Khalid al-Kuthari, adding the body would be buried at
Al-Wadhei district in Abyan province.

"The postmortem is returned to the al-Hanshi family", the sources
said.

Al-Hanshi was accused by the Pentagon of training in Afghanistan for
a holy war against the United States. Another prisoner died in May
2007, also reportedly by making a noose from bed linens.

In 2006, the U.S. announced a Yemeni identified as Salah Ali
Abdullah Ahmed al-Salmi, had committed suicide at Guantanamo.

Saleh's family has filed his case in front of American courts
against American authorities for unveiling the real circumstances of
his death.

Previously, Yemen has renewed claims to bring its nationals home and
pledged to prepare effective rehabilitation programs to ensure the
returnees will never relapse to terrorism.

However, Yemen refused that the detainees to be handed over to
another country. Ultimately, the fate of the remaining Yemeni
prisoners is still yet to be decided.
