Ministry of Environment Participates in Gulf Workshop on Air Quality

Jeddah, November 01 (QNA) - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change - represented by the Environmental Monitoring and Laboratory Department - participated in the Gulf workshop "Ensuring and Assurance of Air Quality Monitoring Networks", organized by the Saudi National Center for Environmental Compliance in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the two-day workshop, Head of Air Quality Section at the Monitoring Department and Environmental Laboratory, Abdullah Ali Al Khulaifi, gave a visual presentation on the Monitoring and Analysis of Environmental Data Unit in the State of Qatar, which was recently launched by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, and a detailed explanation about the monitoring unit, which aims to improve monitoring of ambient air quality data in the State of Qatar as a first stage, which helps maintain the quality of ambient air in the State of Qatar according to the highest standards.
He touched on the initiative to prepare and implement an integrated national air quality management plan, as this plan relies on continuous monitoring and measuring the concentration of pollutants in the surrounding air and identifying the causes and sources of these pollutants to treat them and improve air quality.
At the conclusion of the presentation, Eng Ali Al Ghamdi, CEO of the National Center for Monitoring Environmental Compliance, and Dr. Adel Al Zayani, Head of Human and Environmental Affairs at the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, honored Abdullah Ali Al Khulaifi for his active participation in the workshop.
