Yemeni-Saudi trade and economic exchange reviewed



SANA'A, June 07 (Saba) - Minister of Transport Khalid al-Wazir was
briefed on Sunday on the procedures carried out by the Joint
Yemeni-Saudi Commercial Technical Committee aiming to promote
Yemeni-Saudi trade and economic exchange.

Minister al-Wazir and Saudi Undersecretary of Trade and Industry
Minister Abdullah bin al-Homoudi reviewed the facilities of
commercial movement flow between the two countries and to simplify
access procedures for Yemeni exports to Saudi Arabia markets and
vice-versa.

The Minister indicated to the governmental procedures to enhance
trade exchange between Arab States including the reforming of
transport and trade facilitating committee under the supervision of
Arab League and UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia
(ESCWA).

The transport and Trade Committee of Arab Transport Ministers
Council will discuss in July in Jordan ways of activating its
functions to assist with promoting trade exchange among Arab
countries, the Minister said.

Al-Wazir noted to the current arrangements for shifting the land
outlets with neighbouring countries to land ports outfitted with all
modern equipment to facilitate trade exchange between Yemen and Arab
States.

The Saudi official praised the actions taken by Yemeni Government to
develop land outlets in order to facilitate the flow of goods and of
passengers between the two countries.
