Qatari Newspapers Editorials

Doha, November 09 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers highlighted in their editorials on Wednesday the huge strategic projects accomplished by the State of Qatar in support of the comprehensive development process to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030, pointing to promoting the State's water security which is among the wise leadership's top priorities. On the other hand, the Qatari dailies shed light on the continued efforts to ensure success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and making it the best tournament in the World Cup history, noting that all preparations have been completed for the world to witness an amazing and exceptional championship that honors all Arabs, and reveals the falseness of the image presented by the Western media about the region, its culture, heritage and authentic values. Under the title "New Health Achievement", Al-Watan said that significant new projects are inaugurated almost every day making Qatar a strong, well-established and highly recognized country. In this context, Al-Watan highlighted the inauguration of Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital in Tinbak by HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani inaugurated on Tuesday, noting that the new hospital will play a key role in supporting healthcare services throughout the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The paper noted that Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital is one of the four HMC hospitals with designated 24/7 urgent care units for individuals with urgent but non-life-threatening medical conditions, and has a distinguished location between Al Bayt and Lusail stadiums, the two biggest World Cup stadiums in Qatar. The hospital has a large capacity and all necessary medical equipment to serve patients. The new hospital will serve the people of the area and its surroundings and to reduce their need to visit Hamad General Hospital, Al-Watan added. Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital is the second largest HMC hospital after Hamad General Hospital in terms of size and capacity, and represents a qualitative addition to the country's health sector, Al-Watan concluded. Meanwhile, Qatari daily Al-Raya said that the State of Qatar continues to implement major strategic projects that support the comprehensive development process within its National Plan 2030 which gives top priority to the issue of water security as a vital artery that feeds all sectors of the state, ensures security and stability and supports the development plans. The paper praised the launch of the National Water Control Center by Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) yesterday, after completing its renovation and development work, as well as the establishment of the National Emergency Control Center. Al-Raya said that the launch of the new centers affirms the full readiness of the State of Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and its keenness on ensuring the provision of all services; noting that the centers were are equipped with the latest water network management software, which serves the current needs and the expected future expansion of the country's water network. The paper pointed to Kahramaa's keenness on achieving the State's water security within the framework of its interim and long-term strategic plans, and its keenness to sign contracts with major international companies to modernize the basic infrastructure of the National Water Control Center, as well as the establishment of the National Emergency Control Center, as the project was awarded to the Japanese Yokogawa Electric Corporation. Al-Raya stressed Qatar's keenness to ensure the flow of water services at the highest levels, whether throughout the World Cup or after it, as a major step towards enhancing the water security of the State of Qatar, which is among the wise leadership's top priorities. The National Water Control Center and the National Emergency Control Center will contribute to enhancing water security of the State of Qatar, thus bolstering the capabilities to build a sustainable economy. Water security is a key driver for the growth of other sectors, and Qatar continues to implement strategic projects to achieve complete independence in all fields, Al-Raya concluded. Al-Sharq newspaper said that with each passing day, the start of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 approaches, a moment when people around the world will see the true image of the State of Qatar and the region that the Western media has long promoted stereotype images of backwardness, ignorance, wars, and conflicts that do not reflect the true reality of the culture, civilization, and heritage of the region. The newspaper condemned the smear campaign in some Western media against the World Cup in Qatar, providing no evidence or proof. This has not stopped since the announcement of its victory in hosting the tournament 10 years ago. As the event approaches, campaigns have escalated and intensified. The Western newspapers and media that attack Qatar rely on their stereotyped belief of the region in the global media to achieve goals unrelated to defending human rights or other noble humanitarian principles. Some European countries still believe that organizing the World Cup is their monopoly and are more deserving of hosting than others. Al-Sharq concluded that despite this racist and immoral campaign, the State of Qatar continues to focus all its efforts on the success of this global event, being the first World Cup in the Arab region, to make it the best tournament in the history of the World Cup. All preparations have been completed for the world to witness an amazing and exceptional championship that honors all Arabs and corrects the image presented by the Western media about the region, its culture, heritage, and authentic values. Under the headline "Leave Pettiness, Celebrate Football", the English-language newspaper, The Peninsula, affirmed that this edition of the World Cup is special in many ways, most importantly, the tournament that is considered the epitome of football excellence is coming to the Middle East for the first time. All countries in the region and the majority of nations strongly support Qatar and stand in solidarity with Doha to stage an exceptional event that will be a benchmark for future tournaments. But unfortunately, few countries and organizations have been making critical comments about Qatar hosting the world cup based on misinformation and ulterior motives, the paper stated. Everyone should welcome the fact that football is traveling to new horizons, allowing fans to discover and understand more about the region through the beautiful game of football, the paper stressed. In conclusion, The Peninsula said in its editorial that critics are looking at Qatar through the prism of its tainted glasses. Not ready to accept the reality that Qatar has introduced many reforms and has benefitted many. This was vouched for by many international bodies including the International Labor Organization (ILO).
