Doha, November 10 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers highlighted in their editorials Thursday the completion of the State of Qatar's preparations to receive the guests of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 from all over the world.
The newspapers affirmed that the malicious rumors that tried to distract attention away from Qatar's amazing preparations to host this mega sport event have already vanished, noting that the whole world is looking forward to watching this sport event from the sports capital, Doha.
The papers praised the sustainability strategy for the 2022 World Cup, which included new standards for social, human, economic and environmental development, stressing that this edition of the World Cup will establish a sustainable legacy that contributes to promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and Qatar National Vision 2030.
Al-Raya daily said that just ten days away from the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and Qatar has prepared in the best way to receive the World Cup guests from all over the world in the sports capital, which made a promise to organize a distinguished edition of the World Cup, given that Qatar prepared early 12 years ago, despite the skepticism campaigns against it.
The newspaper stressed that the State of Qatar won the bet and will announce to the world unprecedented sporting, cultural, artistic and tourism events that will add more brilliance to the World Cup, noting that the fans will live unforgettable moments that will remain in their memory for a long time. Qatar, as everyone knows, will continue to be an example of excellence, creativity and exclusivity, benefiting from its previous successes in hosting major sport and international events, the paper added.
The paper underlined that the Qatari response to the campaigns of skepticism, fierce attacks and lies was unequivocal with unprecedented achievements on the ground, referring to the Qatari reforms in labor rights, as it has passed a modern labor law that outperforms Western countries and some parties that brag about human rights.
Global labor unions have recognized that the Qatari reforms are unprecedented and must be universally circulated, the paper said, stressing that workers' rights are a cover for other goals set by the attackers, and born mainly of the refusal to grant an Arab country the right to host the World Cup.
Al-Raya concluded by saying that the matches will be watched on giant screens, along with many other celebrations and events, as Qatar wants to leave a lasting legacy that reflects the true image of the region and its generosity, hospitality and acceptance of others, and presents an honorable image of the customs and traditions that Qataris are proud of.

The newspaper indicated that those who politicize sports have nothing to do with the World Cup and began their hateful campaign from the moment Qatar was announced the winner of the honor of hosting this tournament, as some were not pleased that a Muslim and Arab country will host this global football event.
The paper underlined that after European institutions failed to prove the accusations against the Qatar bid, they went to open the human rights file, but they also failed, because of the advantages that workers enjoy in Qatar that match the best standards, in addition to the legislation that guarantees workers' rights and provide them with a decent living condition in the country.
In conclusion, Al-Watan emphasized that the World Cup in Qatar will reveal to those who manipulated the facts that everything they had do did not discourage football fans from buying all the tickets for the World Cup matches, as 3 million tickets were sold, while about 40 million requests were registered to buy tickets for the most important and beautiful, and the most organized and safe tournament in the history of world football.
In its turn, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted in its editorial HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani's participation in the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) hosted by the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, stressing that the State of Qatar is committed to boosting the cooperation with its international partners in countering the challenges posed by climate change and its repercussions on the world.
HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs headed the Qatari delegation at COP 27. On the sidelines of the conference, HE also participated in the launching ceremony of the second edition of the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Summit 2022, with a number of state and government leaders, decision-makers, and representatives of regional and international organizations concerned with the environment and climate affairs aiming to strengthen the regional climate commitments announced in the inaugural edition of the summit last year, the paper said.
The Qatar pavilion, held within the activities of the Sharm El-Sheikh conference, attracted the interest of dozens of participants from different countries, who flocked to the pavilion to learn about Qatar's experience in organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and see the models of environmentally friendly stadiums. Many expressed their admiration for the stadiums that will host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which meet international environmental standards, the paper pointed out.
Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the remarkable presence of the Qatari delegation through the events held at the Qatar pavilion, which shed light on Qatar's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to the negative effects of climate change, and review the country's most prominent achievements in facing climate change in various fields, stressing the great importance that Qatar attaches to the issue of climate change.
In turn, the English-language newspaper, The Peninsula, stressed that environmental sustainability has been one of the main features of Qatar's work over the past 12 years as it built the mega stadiums and infrastructure for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The organizers of the World Cup set an ambitious target of delivering a carbon-neutral tournament, the paper added.
Under the title "Most Sustainable World Cup," the newspaper said that all eight World Cup stadiums have been designed and built in a way to minimize the impact on the environment. In fact, the stadiums have increased green spaces in the country with vast public parks built around the World Cup stadiums.
The stadiums have been designed to be energy and water-efficient and built using recycled materials. Water consumption at operational stadiums is 40 percent lower than international requirements, the paper stated.
A major sustainability component of the World Cup is public transportation. Qatar has built a network of metro and tram connecting the World Cup stadiums with airports and all the major commercial and residential districts of Doha, Lusail, and Al Wakrah, the paper noted.
