Doha, November 23 (QNA) - In their editorials Wednesday, Qatari newspapers commended the 5th Qatar-US Strategic, during which a letter of intent was signed between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the United States on the World Cup Legacy (2022-2026). The newspapers said that as the world's attention is directed to Doha, where the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 are taking place at the highest level of organization and hospitality, the country witnessed on Tuesday an important event, the Qatar-US Strategic, which reflects the country's progress in all its files, and that any file, regardless of its momentum, especially with regard to Qatar's foreign relations with various countries of the world. The newspapers emphasized that Doha and Washington enjoy exemplary bilateral relations and are always working to coordinate positions on most regional and international issues, pointing out that the US sees Qatar as a strategic partner in the fight against terrorism and in the establishment of peace and stability in the world. Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that the agenda of the 5th Qatar-US Strategic, which is currently being held in Doha, reflects the priority the State of Qatar and the friendly United States give to achieving stability in the region and the world. The newspaper affirmed the significance of strengthening the extremely important strategic partnership between the two countries, which extends to a political, defense, security, economic and developmental partnership. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was at the heart of the strategic dialogue, as HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and HE US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken signed a letter of intent between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the United States on the World Cup Legacy (2022-2026). Under the letter of intent, both parties announced their intention to exchange World Cup knowledge and the draw conclusions and build on the success of the State of Qatar in making the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 accessible for persons with disabilities and apply the learned lessons in future tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup 2026 that will be held in the US, and find places that allow more inclusion and accessibility for people with disabilities, the paper added. The paper added that a letter of intent between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the United States on the World Cup Legacy (2022-2026) was signed during the dialogue in which HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and HE US Secretary of State participated. Under the title 'Important Political Dialogue in the Capital of World Sports,' Al-Arab newspaper said Wednesday in its editorial that in light of the global gathering, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which aims - alongside sports competitions - for the exchange of cultures and the acceptance of the other, Doha witnessed yesterday a significant event that reflects the country's progress in many files and areas, especially with regard to Qatar's foreign relations with various countries of the world. In this regard, the paper highlighted the launch of the fifth US-Qatar Strategic Dialogue co-chaired by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and HE Secretary of State of the friendly United States of America Antony Blinken. The paper explained that the dialogue addressed 12 main issues regarding areas of cooperation in the sectors of politics, economy, culture, education, energy, health, mediation and counter-terrorism, including topics such as regional stability, defense cooperation, public health, counterterrorism, combating human trafficking, human rights, climate change, energy efficiency and independence, humanitarian assistance, strategic investments, economic cooperation, and cultural and educational exchanges. Al-Arab newspaper concluded its editorial by pointing out that the dialogue resulted in the announcement of several partnerships, in addition to the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding and letters of intent between the two countries, stressing that the dialogue will contribute to strengthening the military and defense relations between the two countries, and how to make the region more stable, in addition to increasing cooperation in investments, education, culture, human rights and public health, which will be reflected positively on the bilateral relations of the two countries in the future. For its part, Al-Raya newspaper also addressed the Qatari-US strategic integration and comprehensive partnership, affirming that the important strategic partnership between the State of Qatar and the United States has a positive dimension, not only at the level of bilateral relations, but extends to the benefit of establishing security and peace in the region and around the globe. The Fifth Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue came to confirm the strategic integration between the two allies, who stood by each other in many pivotal positions and contributed to the security and stability of the world, the paper said, referring to what happened in Afghanistan after the US withdrawal as an example, hence the participation of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and HE Secretary of State of the US Antony Blinken, in the opening of the Fifth Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue. In turn, Lusail newspaper published Wednesday highlighted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's meeting with HE Secretary of State of the United States of America Antony Blinken at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium and the signing of the letter of intent between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the United States of America on the World Cup Legacy (2022-2026). The newspaper noted HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs' affirmation that Qatar considers relations with the United States one of its most important strategic partnerships during a joint press conference with HE US Secretary of State on the sidelines of the fifth US-Qatar Strategic Dialogue currently held in Doha. For its part, the English-language newspaper Gulf Times covered several topics on its front page, most notably, HH the Amir's meeting with HE US Secretary of State at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on Tuesday. This victory by the Saudi team over the two-time world champions is significant as it happened in the first FIFA World Cup to be held in the Arab region. The paper stressed that this positive vibe will propel the game further in the Arab world and will produce a World Cup winner from the region in the future. A spectacle like Qatar 2022 and the stunning Saudi victory will help create more local heroes to inspire the young.
