SPECIAL CONSTABLES TO HELP POLICE IN AZERBAIJAN
Baku, June 9 (AzerTAc). After Milli Majlis made amendments and supplements to the law on police, some persons will become members of the voluntary public order squad. Public council will be established under the police to coordinate the activity of special constables.
Interior Ministry`s Public Security Department used to implement this pilot project in Baku`s Narimanov, Binagadi districts as well as the towns of Mingachevir, Khachmaz, Shirvan and Ganja.
Establishment of the council aims to keep people from malicious acts. This practice is widely used in USA, England, Germany, Russia. Even in countries facing terrorism threats, public activity helped prevent the tragedy.
