For its part Al-Sharq daily newspaper said that the (LIBE) exempting citizens of the State of Qatar from entry visas to the countries of the Schengen area, which was approved yesterday, reflects the success of the continuous efforts of Qatari diplomacy represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mission of the State of Qatar to the European Union.
Under the title "Schengen visa", the newspaper explained that the approval of the exemption does not require further deliberation in the European Parliament, and that the next step includes the start of deliberations in a tripartite commission representing the Council of the European Union, the Commission and the Parliament to formulate the text of the Schengen visa exemption agreement between the State of Qatar and European Union in preparation for its signing and implementation.
In the context enhancing the strength of the Qatari passport, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spares no effort in signing more agreements with friendly countries, pointing out that exempting Qatari citizens from the visa requirement to enter the United Kingdom is also on the way, Al-Sharq said.
The newspaper concluded its editorial by saying that these steps confirm the advanced level of relations and partnership between the State of Qatar, the European Union and the United Kingdom in all fields, and are an indication of the success of the great efforts made by Qatari diplomacy, with regard to its commitment to taking care of the interests of citizens abroad, and to facilitate their travel procedures to all parts of the world.
Al-Watan daily newspaper said in its editorial that the State of Qatar has always affirmed that realizing security, stability and peace in the Middle East is closely linked to reaching a comprehensive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, and finding a just settlement for the Palestinian cause that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is ensuring the establishment of an independent, sustainable and viable Palestinian state on the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and on the basis of the principle of the two-state solution and the Arab peace initiative, in implementation of the resolutions of international legitimacy.
the newspaper stressed that any solution to this conflict, apart from granting the Palestinian people their legitimate rights, will not yield any result, and will only lead to the continuation of the state of instability in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Under the headline 'Commitment to the Palestinian Right', the newspaper referred to the State of Qatar's reaffirmation of its commitment to continuing solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people, who continue their just struggle to restore their land, sanctities, and inalienable rights.
In this context, AL-Watan noted HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani's affirmation before the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, that the right to self-determination comes at the forefront of these rights, as well as her Excellency's assertion on the need to end the Israeli occupation of all the occupied Arab land, including the occupied Syrian Golan and Lebanese territories, clarifying that this is the way to achieve sustainable settlement of the Palestine cause, as peace and stability in the region will not be achieved without the two-state solution.
Al-Watan concluded its editorial by saying that any disregard for these facts means pushing matters into chaos and instability, and this is what the international community must work to prevent by pushing for a long-awaited, just, peaceful solution.
On the same topic, The Peninsula daily newspaper noted the State of Qatar's support for the Palestinian people's ongoing struggle for their rights.
The newspaper said that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed on 29 November is an important annual occasion to remind the world of the justice of the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to restore all their legitimate and inalienable rights, foremost of which is their right to self-determination, ending the occupation, and establishing their independent and sovereign state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
It pointed that the State of Qatar reiterated its continued support for their just struggle to restore land, sanctities, and inalienable rights that are supported by all international and humanitarian laws and principles.
It further pointed to the statement made by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani before the UN 77th session of the General Assembly, where she asserted that the right of self-determination comes at the fore-front of those rights to ensure the establishment of an independent, sustainable, and viable Palestinian state on the borders of 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Sheikha Alya stressed the need to end the Israeli occupation of all the occupied Arab land, including the occupied Syrian Golan and Lebanese territories, clarifying that this is the way to achieve sustainable settlement of the Palestine cause. Peace and stability in the region will not be achieved without the two-state solution, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative, and in implementation of the resolutions of international legitimacy, The Peninsula said.
It pointed that Israel has for years continued its attacks on the Al Aqsa Mosque by Israeli forces and settlers, in a clear violation of international laws and in attempts to alternate the historical and legal status of the sacred place in East Jerusalem.
The Peninsula concluded its editorial saying "In light of the international community's clear dis-regard for the suffering of the Palestinian people, daily assassinations of Palestinian youth and Israel's rejection of all proposed solutions, it has added to the wound by appointing the most extremist far-right and fascist government which has a history of hostility toward Palestinians. What the Palestinian people are facing on a daily basis of criminal practices at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces did not leave room for maneuvering for any party in the world, which makes it so important to face the truth and recognize their right to freedom and establish their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital."
