Doha, December 05 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers hailed in its editorials Monday Qatar's impressive organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The newspaper stressed that this tournament will remain a milestone in the history of world football. Meanwhile, Al-Watan daily said that FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 gained worldwide acclaim for the good organization, and achievement of prominent figures and facts at the end of the group stage, as the FIFA revealed that the first edition of the FIFA World Cup to be hosted in the Middle East witnessed the attendance of 2.45 million (96%) fans during the group stages, higher than the corresponding 2.17 million figure for the 2018 edition in Russia. The highest attendance in the history of the FIFA World Cup since the 1994 final was seen at Lusail Stadium, where 88,966 fans witnessed the Argentina v. Mexico match, the paper added. Al-Raya newspaper said in its editorial that the State of Qatar has achieved the full mark in keeping up with this huge sporting event, as it provided the World Cup fans with extraordinary services from the first moment of their arrival to Qatar. In this regard, the newspaper referred to the announcement of the General Authority of Civil Aviation that air traffic until the end of the second week of the World Cup reached 12,963 flights through Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport. So the Qatari airspace witnesses a large operational intensity during the World Cup, which refutes all the false news about boycotting the World Cup. Qatar is ready to receive its guests, and for that purpose it raised the capacity of its airports, and provided all forms of support to ensure the smooth movement and flow of the masses on the grounds of the World Cup. It noted that the most important thing that confirms the readiness of the transport and aviation sector is the presence of the advanced Qatar Air Traffic Control Center, which is considered the latest and the most advanced in the Middle East. The newspaper concluded by saying that there are great qualitative leaps in the air transport industry in the State of Qatar, which keeps pace with the comprehensive renaissance and sustainable development that the country is experiencing.
