Yemen, UN discuss developmental support, poverty alleviation

NEW YORK, June 09 (Saba) - Yemen permanent representative to the
United Nations Abdullah al-Saydi held talks on Tuesday with the UN
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon over UN role in supporting development
and poverty alleviation in Yemen.

During the meeting, Ban Ki-moon confirmed the importance of
supporting Yemen because it is one of Least Developed Countries, a
democratic beginner and one of the few countries approved all
international conventions concerning human rights and women rights.

Yemen is one of the ancient human civilization, thus the
international community and donor countries must support development
in this country, he added.
