Growth of mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and EEC countries in 2022 increased by 30%

Bishkek, Dec. 9, 2022 / Kabar/. The growth of mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and the EEC countries in 2022 increased by 30%, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov told at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Bishkek. The head of state noted that food shortages were avoided as a result of joint coordinated measures to ensure food security of the Union countries in the spring of this year. “An important step taken by us to maintain overall financial stability was the joint measures to increase payments in national currencies in mutual trade between our countries. Thus, the growth of mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and the countries of the union increased by 30% over the 3 quarters of this year, and exports to the countries of the union grew by more than 40%,” he said. Sadyr Zhaparov also stressed that the progressive movement in this direction made it possible to transfer more than 75% of mutual payments into national currencies, as well as provide access to the Russian currency trading floors. “We believe that in the future this will allow not only diversifying our currency portfolios, but also reducing the pressure of imported inflation,” the president said.
