UK Minister of State for Middle East to QNA: Qatar is Close Friend of UK, We Look Forward to Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Doha, December 11 (QNA) - HE Minister of State for the Middle East, South Asia and United Nations at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom, Lord Tariq Ahmad, praised the existing cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom, affirming that the two countries enjoy strong and close relations. In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Lord Ahmad stressed: "Qatar is a close friend of the UK," looking forward to strengthening further the relations between the two countries in the future. His Excellency appreciated the cooperation between Qatar and the United Kingdom during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, stressing the UK's support for the efforts of the State of Qatar to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the fans during this major global event. HE Lord Ahmad noted that the launch of UK-Qatar Energy Dialogue will deepen the vital energy and climate change cooperation between the two countries. "We have strengthened relations significantly, and I look forward to participating in the UK-Qatar Strategic Dialogue in the new year," HE Lord Tariq Ahmad said. (QNA)
