Yemen agreed on accession to 1996 Protocol

SANA'A, June 09 (Saba) - The cabinet, in its weekly meeting, agreed
on Tuesday on the Ministerial Committee's recommendations, headed by
Minister of Legal Affairs, on Yemen's accession to 1996 Protocol
related to amending the agreement of the prevention of marine
pollution by dumping wastes and other materials of 1972.

The cabinet's meeting, which was chaired by the Prime Minister Ali
Mujawar, directed the concerned ministers to follow-up the
constitutional procedure needed for the validation of the accession
to the Protocol.

The agreement aims to protect the marine environment from damaging
activities through enhancing the effective control process of all
sources of marine pollution.
