IOFS Executive Council Wraps Up First Meeting Under Qatar's Chairmanship

Astana, December 14 (QNA) - The Executive Council of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) concluded Wednesday its first meeting in its new session under the chairmanship of the State of Qatar, at the organization's headquarters in THE Kazakh capital, Astana. Chaired by Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al Marri, the Director of the Food Security Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Chairman of the Executive Council of IOFS, the meeting underscored the importance of supporting IOFS's financial and political resources through boosting the cooperation with all entities concerned with food security, whether in the Islamic states, or the international community, as well as the public and private sectors that would contribute to the permanence of the organization's work, and the ability to carry out the projects and programs that enhance the food security system in the Islamic states. In addition, the meeting underlined the importance of setting the performance indicators with an effective system in pursuit of monitoring these indicators, and ensure they are achieved as per approved time schedule, monitor any potential impediments and attempt to figure out the appropriate solutions. In its meeting, the executive council of IOFS had discussed an array of topics, including the report of IOFS's Director General on the progress made in the organization's programs and activities for 2022, the strategic plan for the year 2023, the operational budget for 2023, following-up on the implementation of the decisions of IOFS's Fifth General Assembly, along with the issues pertaining to the headquarters of the International Islamic Food Processing Association.
