National Day/ Jordanian Ambassador: Qatar Presented Honorable, Civilized Image of Arabs during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Doha, December 17 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Qatar Zaid Mufleh Al Lawzi stressed that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 showcased the hosting country’s capability to provide the best edition of this global event, pointing out that the State of Qatar managed to provide a more inclusive tournament through its preparations and organization that impressed the whole world. In his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar National Day, HE Ambassador of Jordan indicated that the State of Qatar managed to present an honorable and civilized image on behalf of all Arabs through holding activities that provided noble messages on the importance of rapprochement between peoples and spreading peace and tolerance. His Excellency pointed out that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 represents a source of pride and honor for all Arabs following its impressive success. His Excellency hailed Qatar’s diplomacy, which had proven its prominent role in consolidating the principles of world peace and security, through encouraging peaceful settlement of disputes, which was demonstrated recently in the evident role it played in solving disputes in some countries or its role as a mediator between countries. His Excellency referred to the State of Qatar's efforts in combating the spread of COVID-19 by securing vaccines and treatments and helping some countries develop their testing equipment. In this regard, His Excellency pointed out that the State of Qatar provided aid for more than 80 countries and international organizations in this field. His Excellency valued the Qatari role in providing humanitarian and medical aid for countries in need, its concentrated efforts in providing aid to children, and facilitating the needed fund for the UN's various programs, the United Nations International Children's Emergency (UNICEF), and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Regarding the Qatari-Jordanian relations, HE the Ambassador said that the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have solid, historical, fraternal, and distinguished relations. His Excellency said that the two countries have several coordination aspects in various regional and international issues of common interest, in light of the ongoing growth of the relations in numerous economic, trade, and investment fields, in addition to the robust follow-up between the two countries to maintain direct and continuous contact between relevant authorities and concerned ministries. His Excellency pointed out that Qatar and Jordan share the same point of view regarding the importance of the peaceful settlement of international crises, activating joint Arab action, and enhancing a regional environment full of opportunities and achievements, especially as both countries consider the Palestinian cause as their primary central issue amid stressing the necessity of finding a sound solution for the Palestinian cause that is based on the two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital on the lines of June 4, 1967. Concluding his statements to QNA on the occasion of Qatar National Day, His Excellency said that the bedrock for all of Qatar's achievements on all fronts is the cohesion of the Qatari leadership and its people, extending his sincere congratulations to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and all Qatari people, wishing the State of Qatar more progress and prosperity on this cherished occasion for many years to come.
