Qatar Partakes in OIC's 3rd Judicial Conference of the Constitutional/Supreme Courts/Councils

Istanbul, December 23 (QNA) - The State of Qatar Participated in the 3rd Judicial Conference of the Constitutional/Supreme Courts/Councils of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which is host in the friendly Republic of Turkey with the participation of 34 countries.
HE Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) and President of the Court of Cassation Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Mohannadi headed the State of Qatar's delegation to the conference.
The conference discussed the issue of overlapping jurisdictions between the courts of justice and constitutional courts in safeguarding and regulating the basic rights of individuals and societies within the national framework of states. It also discussed mechanisms of interaction and cooperation among the participating countries to review and exchange expertise and experiences that lead to best practices that guarantee these rights.
The conference also called for the establishment of a permanent platform for cooperation among the countries of the Islamic world in the fields of building individual and institutional judicial capacities that help judicial institutions to exercise the best roles in preserving the basic rights of societies.
The conference agenda included interactive sessions, during which a number of heads of judicial authorities reviewed the experiences and relevant practices of their jurisdictions, and discussed with the participants technical inquiries and procedural comparisons that helped generalize positive and innovative experiences in the exchange of roles between the judicial and constitutional courts to achieve the independence of prompt justice.
