OIC Chief hails success of parliamentary elections in Lebanon

Jeddah, June 10, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of
the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu,
expressed his felicitations to Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and
the Lebanese people on the parliamentary elections that were
successfully conducted in an atmosphere of democracy, transparency
and freedom, consolidating thus the principles of the rule of law and
the peaceful rotation of power.

In a press statement released here yesterday, Ihsanoglu also
commended the Lebanese people's keenness to reinforce pluralist
democracy and coexistence.

He expressed his belief that these free and democratic elections
would bolster security, stability and development in Lebanon.
