Implementing public, private sectors partnership reviewed
SANA'A, June 08 (Saba) - Transport Minister Khalid al-Wazir was
briefed Monday on what have been achieved in implementing the
partnership program between the public and private sectors.
This program seeks to facilitate the government investment in
partnership with the private sector financed by the International
Finance Corporation (IFC) of World Bank.
During his meeting with IFC delegation on Monday, the Minister
praised the Ministry of Planning and IFC's efforts in carrying out
the program, noting its importance in terms of promoting investment
opportunities.
Transport Ministry has many strategic projects that require funding
and partnership with the private sector, and some projects have
begun the initial steps and advertised the need of consultants for
those projects, he added.
For his part, the ICF head of the delegation praised the first steps
taken by the Ministry in those projects which will contribute to
implementing and financing the projects.
It is worth to mention that the partnership program is scheduled to
have an implementation unit in the Ministry of Planning and
International Cooperation with contact points in each of the
concerned ministries.
