Qatar Men's National Handball Team Head to Poland to Participate in World Championship

Doha, January 09 (QNA) - Qatar men's national handball team will head to Poland on Tuesday to participate in the 28th IHF Men's World Championship hosted by Poland and Sweden whose competitions will launch on Wednesday and run until Jan. 29. The team's mission includes 21 footballers who will compete in the world championship within Group E, along with the teams of Germany, Serbia and Algeria, while Group A includes Spain, Montenegro, Chile, Iran, and Group B includes France, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Group C: Sweden, Brazil, Cape Verde, Uruguay, Group D: Iceland, Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, Group F: Norway, Macedonia, And Argentina, and the Netherlands, and the seventh G: Egypt, Croatia, Morocco, and America, and Group H: Denmark, Belgium, Bahrain, and Tunisia. Qatar's team will start the competitions of the world championship by facing Germany on Friday and will play the second game with Algeria on Sunday before concluding the games by facing Serbia on Tuesday. The teams with the first three places from each group will qualify for the main round, which will include 24 teams, and will be divided into four groups, each of which includes six teams competing with each other in a one-round league system, provided that the two teams with the first and second places in each group qualify for the quarter-finals. In addition, Qatar has finalized the preparations for this championship, where the preparation program included playing two test games with Tunisia last October and ended with draw 22-22. (QNA)
