Germany grants Yemen € 17.5 mln
SANA'A, June 10 (Saba)- A grant agreement between Yemen and German
Development Bank at sum of € 17.5 was signed on Wednesday to fund
educational project which is carried out by the Social Fund for
Development (SFD) in rural regions of the country.
It was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Kareem
al-Arhabi and the director of the bank's office in Yemen.
Under the agreement, the German bank would present the grant to
Yemen to contribute to the project.
Al-Arhabi expressed appreciation of the Yemeni government for the
contribution of the German bank and government for the development
process in Yemen.
On the other hand, al-Arhabi headed a final session for donors of
the SFD to review third phase of the SFD's projects.
The meeting lasted for two weeks with participation of World Bank
office in Sana'a, UK ministry of international development,
Netherlands embassy, German Development Bank, European Union and the
Saudi fund.
