President directs solving electricity, water, lands issues in Aden
ADEN, June 10 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh has issued
directives to government to allocate more than YR 600 million to
improve output of power stations in al-Huswa, al-Mansoura and Khour
Maksar.
In his meeting with members of local councils and executive
directors in the governorate on Wednesday, Saleh discussed with
these officials issues touching their needs lead by electricity,
water, lands, health, education and woman.
He indicated that the service and development projects inaugurated
on Wednesday will help in meeting citizens' aspirations and promote
progress and services provided to them. These projects cost
approximately YR 31, 9 billion.
Saleh also directed the local authority to authorize the National
Water Corporation to speed up digging new wells besides exiting ones
and improving Aden water project's bumping output to meet people's
need of water.
He then directed local authority and the General Authority for
Lands, Survey and Urban Planning to solve lands issue, deterring any
aggression against them and using media and transparency to make all
land issues public.
He indicated efforts exerted by the state to solve the problem of
retirees and those who are left without work," but some want to make
from these issues a pretext to mislead public opinion and carry out
their own agenda targeting the homeland and its unity."
He asserted state's keenness on developing woman and her ability,
pushing fields promoting here status and enhancing her participation
in public life and development. He highlighted achievements realized
by local councils in field of development, affirming intention to
transference to local ruling with broad power.
