Qatar, Netherlands sign MoU to Boost Cooperation in Labor Fields

Doha, January 12 (QNA) - The government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands signed Thursday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost bilateral cooperation in labor fields.
The MoU was signed by HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri on behalf of Qatar's government, HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra on behalf of the government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Head of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Office in Doha Max Tunon on behalf of the ILO.
The MoU aims to enhance the cooperation strategy implemented by the State of Qatar with various governments and international organizations - the Ministry of Labor and the government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in cooperation with the ILO in labor fields - especially in dispute resolution methods, social dialogue, and wage protection. The MoU also aims to facilitate the exchange of information, delegations, and experts, as well as strengthen the technical cooperation between competent governmental and semi-governmental institutions within the framework of exchanging expertise and best international practices in the labor field.
According to the MoU, both sides will exchange study visits; organize seminars via video conferences; share information and best practices regarding dispute resolution, social dialogue, and wage protection; as well as boost cooperation between the three sides in a manner that contributes to the continuation of developing the labor environment in both countries.
