Yemen clinches Germany academic deal
BERLIN, June 9 (Saba) - The Aden university signed an academic
cooperation deal with the German university of Oldenburg in
Germany's capital, Berlin, on Tuesday.
The four-year agreement, which could be renewed, was for cooperation
on German language master programs for Yemeni students and calls for
holding training courses for Yemen summer schools with the aim to
swap experiences and professor visits.
It was signed by rector of the Aden university Saleh Bin Habtoor and
Vice President of the German Oldenburg university Macatyls Fielder.
After the signing ceremony, the two universities discussed aspects
of mutual cooperation.
Four days ago, the Aden University and the Germany University of
Leipzig signed a five-year deal for cultural and scientific
research.
The agreement calls for promoting aspects of scientific and cultural
relations between the two countries, evaluating the curriculum,
supporting language and German studies in Yemen, the exchange of
scientific publications between the two universities.
The agreement was signed by Rector of the Aden University Abdul Aziz
Bin Habtor and Dean of the Institute of Oriental Studies, University
of Leipzig, Eberhard Karls.
Aden University delegation held talks with Rector of University of
Leipzig Franz Huser on ways of reinforcing academic cooperation
between the two countries and was briefed on the High School for
Telecommunications Engineering of Leipzig.
Noteworthy, the University of Leipzig is the second-oldest
University in Germany, founded in 1409.
