Qatari Newspapers Editorials

Doha, January 17 (QNA) - In their editorials on Tuesday, Qatari newspapers highlighted the efforts and initiatives of the State of Qatar to facilitate the employment of Qatari youth and support Qatarization, especially in leadership positions through providing a path to Qatari youth to serve the country and utilize their creative energies for the advancement of Qatar. The newspapers emphasized that employment is a government priority, as it works hard to Qatarize jobs and attract the best talents, in order to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030. The newspapers also denounced the escalation of Israeli crimes in light of international indifference, warning that the situation in the region is on the verge of dangerous developments that may threaten regional and global stability, especially as the Palestinian people have no options beside comprehensive resistance to confront this criminal aggression. In its editorial, Al-Raya said a joint report by the Ministry of Labor and Civil Service and Government Development Bureau on employment statistics for 2022 showed a total of 7127 jobs were created across Qatar’s public and private sectors. The public sector created the most job opportunities over the past year with over 5,000 citizens hired, the newspaper said, adding that new positions were predominately filled by women who made up 69 percent of new hires. In the private sector, 1850 Qatari citizens were hired, and male employees made up 52 percent of new hires and female candidates represented 48 percent. Al-Raya added that last year saw a great deal of investment in the National Employment Platform, Kawader, with upgrades made to facilitate the employment of Qataris looking for work. These upgrades include allowing employed Qatari to search for new roles in the portal to ensure continuous professional development, providing remote, free-of-charge e-training platform to help job seekers acquire essential skills for future employment, enabling job seekers to apply for a maximum of five jobs at once, and matching job opportunities with job seekers’ qualifications and interests. The newspaper concluded by saying that the Kawader platform must be commended, as it is considered a major step that contributed significantly to reducing the unemployment rate and finding a suitable job for Qatari cadres, and reflects the state's approach to governance and the use of technology, in order to serve the people of Qatar, especially young people looking for jobs. In turn, the Peninsula newspaper stressed that the State aims to develop a workforce that can meet its needs and develop the country, according to Qatar National Vision 2030, affirming that the government has always prioritized ensuring the citizens remain actively involved in the country’s growth. In its editorial, the newspaper said that the Ministry of Labor and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau announced that as many as 7127 jobs were created for Qatari citizens across the nation’s public and private sectors in 2022, per the Recruitment Statistics 2022. It pointed out that the public sector created the most job opportunities over the past year, with over 5000 citizens hired. Primary Healthcare Cooperation, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Hamad Medical Corporation had the most hires within the government, while most job opportunities were recorded in the Ministry of Municipality, the Supreme Judiciary Council and the General Authority of Customs, the newspaper said. As for the private sector, the Peninsula said that 1850 Qatari citizens were hired, and male employees made up 52 percent of new hires while female candidates represented 48 percent. The newspaper concluded by pointing out that 2022 was a great year for the recruitment market in Qatar, as it has welcomed many new employees who are enriching the government sector and helping fulfil Qatar National Vision 2030. On the other hand, Al-Sharq newspaper said that the Israeli entity's extreme right-wing government led by Benjamin Netanyahu continues its open war against the Palestinian people through its racist, systematic policies and plans that contradict international covenants, laws and UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue. The pace of attacks against the Palestinians is escalating dangerously. Within two weeks, 14 martyrs died during the raids and incursions of the occupation forces into the Palestinian towns in the West Bank, four of whom were children, and the latest was at dawn on Monday. The newspaper denounced the arrest campaigns, the continuous Judaization schemes, the demolition of Palestinian facilities and homes and displacement of their owners, the ratification of more racial discrimination laws to perpetuate the occupation, the legitimization of the plans for the gradual annexation of the occupied West Bank, and the violations and provocative practices to Islamic and Christian sanctities. Al-Sharq said that the continued lack of accountability, punishment and international silence encouraged the Israeli government to continue committing crimes against the Palestinian people, which amounted to killing children and executing civilians in cold blood. Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the escalation of Israeli crimes in light of international indifference and silence, lack of accountability and justice, and the absence of any political process means that the situation is on the verge of dangerous developments that may threaten regional and even global stability, especially since the Palestinian people have no other options to confront this criminal aggression. For its part, Al-Watan newspaper condemned in its editorial the Israeli entity's continuous daily crimes against the Palestinian people saying that the newest crime added to the series of escalating Zionist crimes is the death of a Palestinian child shot by an Israeli bullet in the head during the storming of the Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem, West Bank. Usually, the Israeli army storms the cities and towns of the West Bank to arrest Palestinians it describes as 'wanted' and clashes break out with young men throwing stones at the soldiers. In retaliation, the army responds with live and metal bullets, and sound and gas bombs, the newspaper explained. In conclusion, Al-Watan said that this escalation, continued by the new Netanyahu government, is only the beginning. Many ministers of the new government, especially the ministers of national security and finance, have announced their goal to not only deport the Palestinian people from their land, but to liquidate their just cause without any consideration for international resolutions related to the Palestinian cause, the most prominent of which is the right of return, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
