Doha, January 19 (QNA) - In their Thursday editorials, Qatari newspapers highlighted the fraternal consultative meeting HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani participated in with HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman, HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, HM King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and HE President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi, that was held on Wednesday at the invitation of HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the title "Prosperity and Stability in the Region", at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
The newspapers emphasized that HH the Amir's participation in the fraternal consultative meeting came within the framework of the State of Qatar's firm policy that focuses on advancing and strengthening joint Arab action, stressing that such fraternal meetings are what the nation constantly needs in light of international circumstances that necessitate Arab unity and coordination.
The newspapers also highlighted the transport and communication sector in the State of Qatar, which received the attention of the State, pointing to what the Doha Metro has achieved since the start of its operations in May 2019 and its significant contributions in providing sustainable transportation services that facilitated people's lives, reduced congestion, and provided reliable and comfortable transportation services, in addition to its role in the success of Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
In its editorial, Al-Sharq newspaper said that the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman, HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, HM King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and HE President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the fraternal consultative meeting that was held on Wednesday at the invitation of HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the title "Prosperity and Stability in the Region" comes within the framework of the State of Qatar's firm policy in advancing and strengthening joint Arab action.
The newspaper stressed that regional challenges, in addition to regional and international issues and developments of common interest are what necessitate work to coordinate positions, strengthen joint Arab action, and unify efforts to address these challenges.
It added that the results of this consultative meeting will have a great impact on consolidating and deepening joint cooperation between these countries in all fields and push efforts aimed at integration and building economic and development partnerships at the Arab level.
The newspaper concluded by saying that ensuring the security, stability and prosperity of the region requires more of these consultative meetings between leaders for a better future for the people in light of a world facing many challenges.

The newspaper stressed that this meeting is of great importance in light of the situation in the region that require more joint action, cooperation and regional integration.
In turn, Al-Arab newspaper said that the State of Qatar opens its foreign policy to various countries of the world and constantly works - in accordance with HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's vision - to strengthen its international relations to benefit Qatari people, and consolidate these relations, especially with international decision-making capitals to serve the security and stability of the region.
Qatar works on consolidating the bonds of brotherhood with fellow Gulf Arab countries as an extension of the common destiny with its people. The meeting's fraternal atmosphere was reflected in HH the Amir's tweet as HH expressed his happiness in participating in the meeting with his brothers and the leaders of brotherly countries, explaining that the meeting discussed ways to strengthen joint cooperation between countries to achieve the interests of the people and support security and stability in the region, the paper said.
HH the Amir concluded the tweet by thanking HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the UAE for their warm reception and generous hospitality, the paper noted.
Al-Arab concluded by emphasizing that such fraternal meetings are what the Arab nation needs in light of international circumstances that require Arab unity and coordination of positions to benefit the Arab people for a better future. The State of Qatar constantly works on, and spares no effort, in providing all political and economic support for Arab issues, bearing in mind the interests of its people and the people of its brotherly countries.
In turn, Lusail newspaper highlighted on its front pages the fraternal consultative meeting of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman, HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, HM King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and HE President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi held at the invitation of HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the title "Prosperity and Stability in the Region," at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

On its front page, entitled "Amir attends ‘consultative meeting’ in UAE," the paper said that HH the Amir arrived Wednesday morning in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, to take part in the fraternal consultative meeting. What proves Doha Metro's leadership is the announcement of Qatar Railways Company (Rail) that Doha Metro recorded 100 million in ridership since the launch of its service in 2019. Qatar Rail indicated that this number was recently surpassed during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on the fifth day of the tournament, November 24, 2022, when the metro set a record in the daily number of passengers, transporting more than 827,000 passengers in one day, Al-Raya said.
Al-Raya concluded its editorial by saying that Doha Metro is a milestone in the transport and communication sector in the region and the world." Metro network offers one of the most advanced systems for trains in the world, as it provides a package of unique and modern services such as the Internet, parking lots and the "Metrolink" service at train stations, thus making the transportation sector in Qatar a landmark and a basis for modern transportation.
The Peninsula newspaper said that since its opening in 2019, Doha Metro has revolutionized Qatar’s mass transit system. The metro network has ferried over 100 million people since its opening, a remarkable feat and a testament to the success of the government efforts to modernize the transportation sector.
The newspaper said in its editorial that the metro also played a key role during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, safely transporting hundreds of thousands of fans to and from the stadiums and other public places. During the World Cup, 17.4 million passengers travelled on the metro to reach match venues.
Since its opening, the ridership has steadily grown, reflecting the growing confidence of citizens, residents and visitors in Doha Metro services underpinned by network connectivity to key destinations, tourist attractions and Hamad International Airport, the Peninsula added.
The paper concluded its editorial by saying that the government has launched the Transportation Master Plan for Qatar 2050, which works as a roadmap for investing in land transportation infrastructure and also identifies the frameworks and future orientations for developing the transportation networks nationwide in a way that ensures their integration with land uses, urban development, population growth and meeting the future demand for transportation.
