AZERBAIJAN SIGNS IRENA STATUTE
Berlin, June 11 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev has signed the statute of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), making the country the organization`s 96th member state.
The document was signed in the presence of the German Secretary of State, Heinrich Tiemann, at the German Federal Foreign Office.
Established in Bonn this January, the International Renewable Energy Agency is an intergovernmental organization for promoting the adoption of renewable energy worldwide.
Among states that joined the agency are 35 African, 31 European, 21 Asian and 9 Latin-American countries.
