US MILLENNIUM CHALLENGE CORPORATION HALTS ARMENIAN FUNDING
Baku, June 11 (AzerTAc). Armenia has received an unexpected blow from the United States, after the US Government`s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) decides to stop allocating funding to the country.
A meeting of the MCC Board of Directors chaired by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton decided to put a hold on funding “a result of actions by the government of Armenia that are inconsistent with MCC principles promoting democratic governance”.
Acting MCC Chief Executive Officer Rodney Bent said “I do not anticipate that the Board will revisit this issue in the future.”
