Yemeni-Syrian joint committee to be held in June
SANA'A, June 11 (Saba) - The Yemeni-Syrian Supreme Joint Committee
is to hold its meetings in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on June 27
- 28, the weekly 26 September said on Thursday.
Well-informed sources told the weekly that the meetings would be
co-chaired by the Prime Minister Ali Mujawar and the Syrian
counterpart Muhammad Naji al-Utri.
The supreme committee meetings will be preceded by a meeting of the
preparatory committee to deal with the issues, agreement drafts and
executive programs that would be signed in the conclusion of the
meetings.
The coming meetings would focus on activating commercial and
economic cooperation and enhance the in-between trade and
investments between the two countries.
The source said the supreme committee will review higher education
cooperation, as Syria offers Yemen about 100 scholarships.
The committee will also discuss activating cooperation in transport
sector, particularly after the two countries and Jordan have agreed
on establishing a joint marine transport.
