AZERI DELEGATION ATTENDING ILO`S 98TH SESSION IN GENEVA
Baku, June 13, (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Fuzuli Alakbarov is attending the 98th session of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.
During discussions at the session, Alakbarov told of ongoing social and economic reforms in Azerbaijan and preventive measures done by the Azerbaijani government to reduce the impact of the global financial crisis.
On the sidelines of the session, Fuzuli Alakbarov met with ILO Director-General Juan Samovia, the Organization`s Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Petra Ulshoefer and Deputy Regional Director Alena Nesporova. Alakbarov briefed them on the “social and economic development” in Azerbaijan.
He said “measures taken to reduce the impact of the global financial crisis on Azerbaijan`s economy has already yielded positive results”.
Juan Samovia praised the “ongoing social and economic development” in Azerbaijan.
He underlined “steps taken by the Azerbaijani government to reduce the impact of the global financial crisis could be an example for other countries.
The same day, Fuzuli Alakbarov also met with Minister of Labour and Employment and Expatriates of Bangladesh Mosharraf Hossain.
