Government discuses investment program of several projects



SANA'A, June 16 (Saba)- The cabinet discussed in its Tuesday meeting
package of executive program of investment projects with exterior
funding. These projects concern education and transport ministries.

The package shows the total allocations to education sector from new
funding which reach $ 163 million. The funding is distributed on
several projects, improving secondary education, girl joining
education, basic education and on illiteracy eradication.

Minister of Education discussed report on mechanisms of technical
and executive measures associated with these projects in addition to
the projects his ministry is planning to.

The minister asserted that the ministry in cooperation with ministry
of planning and international cooperation has comprised all new
allocations in recorded time.

While allocations to transport projects has reached $ 226 million
distributed on projects of improving Sana'a International Airport,
constructing the new passage of Taiz Airport and Suqutra new airport.

Minister of Transport clarified in a report that construction of the
three above mentioned projects will start in 2010. He informed the
council on clarifications of ministry of technical education and
vocational training on the projects of this sector.
