FM condolences German counterpart
SANA'A, June 16 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi
telephoned his German counterpart Frank Steinmeier on Tuesday
condoling him on the two German nurses killed in a tragic criminal
accident in the northern governorate of Sa'ada last Saturday.
Al-Qirbi expressed Yemen's condolence to the families of the two
German nurses and friendly German people.
The Minister al-Qirbi confirmed that the security bodies are keeping
on their investigations to track and arrest the culprits for
bringing them to justice.
For his part, the German Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity
of cooperation between the two sides in investigating the accident,
affirming Germany's support to Yemen in combating terrorism.
Furthermore, the Minister al-Qirbi reviewed with the German
ambassador to Yemen Michael Klor-Berchtold the findings of the
security bodies' investigations so far.
Al-Qirbi affirmed Yemeni government's readiness to cooperate with
the German side in tracking and capturing the criminals, saying
"This crime, which provoked Yemeni people's feelings, is
contradictory with their traditions and religious teachings."
The Dutch women were among nine foreigners kidnapped by Houthis
militants last Friday.
The murdered nurses were working in Sa'ada's al-Joumhori Hospital
for the Dutch World Wide Services Foundation, a charity foundation
that presents medical services in developing countries.
Kidnapped two German nurses and a female Korean teacher were found
dead last Saturday in Akween area, Wadi Noshor of Sa'ada governorate.
There is no information about the rest of the kidnapped foreigners.
