BAKU TO HOST 3rd PANKRATION WORLD CUP
Baku, June 17 (AzerTAc). The 3rd pankration world cup will be held here on June 24-25. The event will bring together about 150 athletes from Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Russia, Iran, Japan, Uganda, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Bulgaria, Latvia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Southern Africa, China, Greece, Austria, Nepal, Africa, India, Cyprus, England, Brazil, Bulgaria, Jordan and Australia.
Azerbaijan`s team will consist of 23 men and 4 women athletes, senior coach Fikrat Bagirov said.
Pankration is a universal sport and includes elements of karate, taekwondo, jujitsu, kempo, kung-fu and wrestling.
The competition has two fighting divisions to accommodate all athletes: full contact and light contact.
