AZERBAIJAN`S EFFORTS TOWARDS EUROATLANTIC INTEGRATION ‘ARE WORTHY OF ESTEEM’

Baku, 18 April (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s moves to integrate into Euroatlantic structures are worth of esteem, said Ambassador Bilge Cankorel, Head of the OSCE Office in Baku, while meeting today Azerbaijan`s parliament speaker Ogtay Asadov.

The OSCE official said his organization is interested in advancing relations with Azerbaijan. He vowed the OSCE Office in Baku will make every effort to help the Azerbaijani government to further develop its economy and business environment.

Speaker Asadov said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to expanding relations with international organizations, including OSCE and its Parliamentary Assembly.

He praised Azerbaijan`s cooperation with various structures of the OSCE.

“Our parliamentarians are actively participating in all meetings of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.”

“Azerbaijan supports strengthening of the organizations`s role in settling conflicts and strengthening security,” Asadov said.

Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the speaker said Armenia continues its aggressive policy by ignoring resolutions of UN Security Council and other leading international and regional organizations.

“All this concerns Azerbaijan. This conflict threatens security of not only the South Caucasus but also the whole Europe, particularly its energy security. Azerbaijan urges OSCE and its Minsk Group to strengthen efforts towards finding a resolution to the conflict on the basis of international norms and principles.”
