QHF President to QNA: Winning Asia's Gold Push to Additional Successes

Hangzhou, October 05 (QNA) - President of the Qatar Handball Federation (QHF) Ahmed Al Shaabi stressed that the team Qatar's winning of the gold medal in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, was not a coincidence or a single match performance but rather the result of great work and unlimited support from sports officials in Qatar who support all teams to achieve success and delight the Qatari fans with the best achievements.
In his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Shaabi said that winning the gold medal would not have been achieved without the constant support of the wise leadership, pointing out that competing for the gold medal began a long time ago through preparing the team and drawing success plans through the continuous preparations that the players and their technical staff were making, so the team needed to complete what it had started by winning the gold medal.
He added that winning the two gold medals in the Asian Games in South Korea in 2014 and Indonesia in 2018 motivated the team to win the third gold in a row, confirm its technical advantage, and remain at the lead of the Asian teams, pointing out that maintaining the lead required more effort from the players.
Concluding his remarks to QNA, the QHF President praised the team players and their technical staff, led by Spanish Valero Rivera, saying that they presented a perfect second half after facing various difficulties during the first half, considering that a great achievement for Qatari handball and a motivation to keep track of success in the coming period, during which the team will compete for the qualifying card for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
