Yemen, China discuss cooperation in roads, bridges



SANA'A, June 20 (Saba) - Minister of Public Works and Roads Umar
al-Kurshomi discussed here on Saturday with the Chinese ambassador
to Yemen Luo Xiaoguang cooperation ties between the two countries in
road and bridge field.

The meeting dealt with public work and road projects which China
contributed to carry out, topped by Sana'a - Hodeidah road.

In the meeting, al-Kurshomi affirmed the depth of friendship and
cooperation relations between the two countries, which come into
sight by executing great projects in various fields.

Al-Kurshomi voiced his Ministry's readiness to offer all facilities
to the projects implemented by Chinese companies, confirming that
roads are the most important projects of infrastructure since they
are the cornerstone for the other service projects.

He noted the housing projects currently being executed by the
Ministry, indicating that the second phase of these projects, which
targets low-income people, includes constructing 6000 housing units
in the different governorates of the country.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador affirmed his country's keenness
on enhancing the bilateral cooperation ties with Yemen to serve the
common interests, pointing to the progress witnessed by the
relations between the two countries in roads filed.

He confirmed that his country's government encourages Chinese public
and private companies to invest in different world's countries
including Yemen.
