Qatar Sports Federation for Persons with Special Needs Honors Champions in Special Olympics, Asian Paralympic Games
Doha, November 06 (QNA) - The Qatar Sports Federation for persons with special needs honored champions who were crowned in the Special Olympics World Games, which was held in Berlin, as well as in the recently concluded Asian Paralympic Games in China, during a ceremony held by the federation's headquarters in the presence of male and female players from various categories and all members of the Federation.
Secretary General of the Federation Dr. Hassan Al Ansari, Assistant Secretary Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa, and Executive Director of the Federation Amir Al Mulla honored the team's champions.
Dr. Al Ansari praised the achievements made by the national team's male and female champions during their participation in various international tournaments this season, most notably the Special Olympics World Games held last June in Berlin, and the recently concluded Asian Paralympics in China.
Talking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Ansari said that federation celebrates today the achievements of the teams during their participation in various foreign tournaments this season, in which its player Ali Arshad won the bronze medal in the 100-meter wheelchair race, and the goalball players excelled in the tournament, pointing out that many participations next year are awaiting the players to obtain qualification cards for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Assistant Secretary Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa thanked all players who attained achievements in both Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, and the recently concluded Asian Paralympics in China.
In a statement to QNA, Executive Director Amir Al Mulla said that the federation honored today its champions in a celebration that it has been organizing annually in recognition of their excellence and their winning of colorful medals in various participations, dedicating these achievements to HE President of the Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.
He expressed the federation's aspiration to achieve more, adding that their goal is to be present at the Paris Olympics, raise the Qatari flag high, and take the crowning podiums. (QNA)
