FM briefs British diplomat on kidnapping accident developments
SANA'A, June 21 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi reviewed
here on Sunday with UK ambassador to Yemen Tim Torlot the
developments in the kidnapping accident.
In the meeting, al-Qirbi talked with Torlot about the security
bodies' efforts to track the kidnappers of the nine foreigners among
them a British engineer abducted in Sa'ada governorate in June 12.
Al-Qirbi confirmed to the British ambassador that the security
authorities are hunting the criminals who committed a brutal crime
when they slaughtered three women. The crime is entirely
contradictory with the tolerant teachings of Islam and traditions of
Yemeni society.
On the other hand, the Minister al-Qirbi held talks with the French
ambassador to Yemen Gilles Gauthier on occasion of ending his tenure
in the country.
The French ambassador voiced his thanks to the Minister for his
support and his efforts to enhance the political, economic and
cultural relations between the two friendly countries.
For his part, al-Qirbi praised the effective role of the French
ambassador during his tenure in Yemen, which represented a
prosperous phase in the Yemeni-French relations, wishing him all
success in his new duties.
