Qatari Tennis Team Qualifies for Asian Group IV of Davis Cup

Manama, October 28 (QNA) - Qatari tennis team on Saturday qualified for the Asian Group IV of the Davis Cup after its victory over Mongolia in three unanswered matches in the fifth group qualifiers, which was held over a period of six days with the participation of 13 Asian teams. The national team achieved victory over its Mongolian counterpart after Mashari Nawaf defeated Mongolian Munkh Baatar in the first singles match by 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Mubarak Shannan managed to win the second match after defeating Mongolian Oyunbat Baatar 6-2, 6-2. In the doubles match, the duo Issa Shannan and Rashid Nawaf secured Qatar's victory after defeating the Mongolian duo Sono Mpuntsag and Undrakk 6-1, 6-3. (QNA)
