Al Jazeera Welcomes UN's Recognition of Israel's Responsibility in the Killing of Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh

Doha, October 25 (QNA) - Al Jazeera Media Network welcomed the findings of the United Nation's Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the killing of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, the Al Jazeera correspondent in Palestine.
In a statement on Wednesday, the network called for quick measures to be taken to ensure justice for her and her killers to be held accountable.
The UN acknowledged that the Israeli forces used "unjustified lethal force" in targeting journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, and highlighted the urgent need to hold Sherine’s killers and those involved in targeting her responsible.
Al Jazeera supports the UN Commission's pledge to submit the evidence it has collected to the International Criminal Court to support its investigations related to Palestine.
Al Jazeera called on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, to begin investigations into the killing of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh immediately.
Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was killed by a bullet while covering the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of the Jenin camp in the West Bank on May 11, 2022. (QNA)
