NHRA participates in Arab Women's Health Initiative meeting

Riyadh, Oct. 24 (BNA): Eman Ebrahim Abdulla, Planning and Auditing Advisor and Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Committee at the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), participated in the regional meeting of the Arab Women's Health Initiative under the theme "Your life is precious", held in Saudi Arabia.

The meeting was organised by the Saudi Council for Family Affairs in partnership with the Arab League, the Women Development Organisation (WDO) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and its member states in the implementation of the resolution adopted by the 59th meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health (CAMH) held in May.

Abdulla affirmed Bahrain’s efforts in adopting supportive initiatives to provide health services of high quality and efficiency for all members of society, and the kingdom’s support for international efforts to encourage early detection of various diseases.

She added that the meeting provided a platform to present scientific papers and medical information about the importance of early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer and ways to prevent them.

The meeting reviewed national efforts and regional cooperation in the protection and prevention of breast and cervical cancer, and the role of social media platforms in highlighting women’s success stories in overcoming these diseases to raise awareness and support affected women. It also discussed launching the media campaign "The Pink Warrior".
