BNA Director-General participates in OANA’s 51st Executive Board Meeting

Istanbul, Oct. 24 (BNA): Abdullah Khalil Buhejji, Director General of Bahrain News Agency (BNA), participated in the 51st Executive Board Meeting of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), which was hosted by Anadolu News Agency in Türkiye.

Buhejji said that participation in meetings of this nature, which provide a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas and expertise and enhance cooperation with Asian counterparts. He said BNA’s participation reflects its keenness on further developing work mechanisms to project the national media message on Bahrain’s achievements.

The meeting included seminars that discussed the role of news agencies and media institutions in addressing fake and inaccurate news and the risks imposed by misinformation campaigns conducted by some media platforms.

The director general affirmed the approach of the Information Ministry of giving priority to developing media engagement to provide information with transparency, credibility and clarity at a time when information and news are circulated rapidly around the clock.
