NIHR participates in regional dialogue forum on education

Cairo, Oct. 23 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by Dr. Malallah Al Hammadi, NIHR Member of the Council of Commissioners, participated in the Future of Human Rights Learning and Education in the Arab Region: Towards a New Social Contract Forum held in Eygpt.

The forum was organised in partnership between the Arab Institute for Human Rights (AIHR), the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI), the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt (NCHR), the Arab League, UNESCO, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Dr. Al Hammadi presented a paper discussing the efforts of the NIHR in following up on public and private educational institutions and examining the procedures and services provided to individuals in compatibility with the basic principles of human rights standards.

Representatives of the related authorities in the member states including ministries and heads of national institutions, as well as experts from international and regional organizations participated in the forum.

They discussed the future of education and ways to enhance the integration of human rights and national values into educational curricula. The participants also exchanged expertise and identified the most important methodologies aimed at preparing a vision for developing education in the changing world.
