HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad meets IOC Vice President

Manama, Oct. 18 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) met with Ng Ser Miang, International Olympic Committee (IOC) vice-president.

The meeting was attended by HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Combat Sports Council; Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS); Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, General Sports Authority’s CEO; Fares Mustafa Al-Kooheji, BOC Secretary-General; and Mohammed Abdullatif bin Jalal, President of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA). 

HH affirmed the keenness of the BOC to strengthen collaboration with the International Olympic Committee to advance the Olympic movement. 

HH praised the IOC’s role in advancing the Olympic movement, promoting sports values, and disseminating Olympic principles through various sporting initiatives; including the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, and other programmes. 

HH affirmed that the Bahrain Olympic Committee collaborates with the International Olympic Committee in accordance with the Olympic Charter, the constitution of the Olympic Movement. 

He expressed the kingdom's interest in bilateral cooperation that supports Olympic work and wished the International Olympic Committee success. 

Miang expressed gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid and praised Bahraini sports' development and the support it receives, noting its Olympic and Asian achievements, and wishing the kingdom continued progress.
