Finance Minister meets international banking, financial institutions' representatives

Rabat, Oct. 14 (BNA): Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, held meetings with the representatives of several international financial and banking institutions.

 

The meetings, attended by Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, and Khalid bin Salman bin Jabr Al Musallam, Bahraini Ambassador to Morocco, were held on the sidelines of the 2023 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), currently held in Marrakech, Morocco.

 

The Minister of Finance and National Economy met Jean Lemierre, the Board of Directors Chairman of BNP Paribas bank, Bill Winters, the Group Chief Executive officer of Standard Chartered, Daniel Pinto, CEO of J.P. Morgan's Corporate and Investment Bank, Martin Tricaud, Group Head of Investment Banking at First Abu Dhabi Bank, Greg Guyett, CEO of Global Banking and Markets at HSBC Bank, and Tomohisa Murakami, Senior Managing Director of Nomura Securities Co., Ltd., Investment Banking Product.

 

During the meetings, the minister affirmed the pioneering role played by the financial and banking sector in enhancing economic growth in the kingdom.

 

He indicated that the sector has created promising investment opportunities, highlighting the kingdom’s constant keenness to provide all facilities that support the sector, in a way that reflects positively on its economy.

 

The meetings also focused on financial and banking issues, in addition to the latest global economic developments.
