Qatari Newspapers Editorials
Doha, November 12 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers highlighted in their editorials Sunday HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's speech at the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh yesterday, which establishes for a new phase for the Arab-Islamic "action" required immediately to stop the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The Qatari dailies underlined that HH the Amir's speech ensures the historical responsibility of everyone in this world regarding the crime that has been ongoing for 36th days consecutively in an area not exceeding 365 square kilometers, inhabited by 2.2 million Palestinians, in a gross violation of all humanitarian and moral norms, conventions and laws, most notably the Geneva Conventions.
Al-Raya underlined that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani embodied the pain of the Palestinian people and the brutal massacres they are subjected to in Gaza in his speech at the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit which was held in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.
HH the Amir, with direct and strong words, addressed the conscience of the free world and the entire international community, expressing the tragedy of the Palestinian people who are being subjected to a genocide that is beyond human capacity, amidst the failure of the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to stop these massacres and the aggressive war that Israel has been waging, Al-Raya stressed.
HH the Amir presented in his comprehensive speech a true picture of the ugliest war in history taking place in Gaza under the eyes of the world, where hospitals are openly bombed and entire families are erased from records as a result of the indiscriminate bombing of residential neighborhoods and refugee camps, in implementation of a satanic Israeli plan to wipe out the people of Gaza, whether by killing or forced displacement, Al-Raya added.
HH the Amir's speech meets the magnitude of the Palestinian pain and the Arab wound. It indicated the responsibility of the Arab leadership at this precise and decisive time in the history of the Palestinian issue, and the political weight that Arab countries should have in the face of the Israeli massacres and crimes. HH the Amir stressed that difference over this or that issue should not be a justification for disagreement over taking a firm stance vis-a-vis the ongoing crime in Gaza, the paper noted.
In the face of Israeli intransigence, placing obstacles and conditions to deliver aid to the affected and afflicted, and using that aid as a means of pressure and political blackmail, HH the Amir stressed the need for aid reaching all parts of Gaza Strip, Al-Raya said.
Qatari daily Al-Arab said that the visits paid by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the United Arab Emirates and Egypt with the aim of coordinating influential and effective Arab positions and make efforts to stop the aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza, HH the Amir took part in the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit which was held in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Saturday to find solutions and mechanisms for the catastrophic crisis experienced by the people of Gaza Strip, and to unify the capabilities and strategic visions to stop this aggressive war practiced by the Israeli occupation.
HH the Amir's speech was the mouthpiece of the Arab and Islamic peoples. Peoples are fed up with statements of condemnation and denunciation of the continuing Israeli crimes against Palestine and the Arabs, and are demanding "action". This was affirmed clearly by HH the Amir in his speech when he said that denunciation is not enough and called for taking deterrent steps to stop the ongoing war crime in Gaza, Al-Arab said.
HH the Amir noted the international community's failure to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities, wondering "how long will the international community continue to treat Israel as if it is above international law, and how long will it be condoned to flout all international laws in its brutal, never-ending war on the country's indigenous population?"
The paper referred to HH the Amir's pointing to a noticeable increase in the levels of immunity among some countries to the bombing of hospitals and shelters, and this strength of immunity is only against our Palestinian brothers.
Al-Arab wondered why did the West gave a blind eye to the tragedy of Palestine and the collective punishment practiced by Israel in Gaza? Why do they support Israel with all those weapons, equipment and ammunition as if the civilians in Gaza were the ones who killed, attacked, and occupied Israeli lands? Why did the moral standards fail and the governments of Europe and America do not seek to stop that unjust war against the Palestinian people? Are they not human beings that do have the rights to live and have a safe life, and the right to build an independent homeland liberated from the Israeli occupier?
In conclusion, Al-Arab underlined that the State of Qatar is unflinching in its historical position in support of the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people and their just cause. Qatar continues with partners in the region and the international community t stop the war, protect the civilians and provide humanitarian aid.
Al-Sharq newspaper confirmed in an article by its editor-in-chief titled "Amir’s Speech Establishes for Arab Action" that the speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit, which was held yesterday in Riyadh in, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a new stage for the Arab-Islamic "action" required immediately to stop the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Al-Sharq said that the speech of HH the Amir carried clear and specific messages in dealing with the massacres committed by the Israeli entity against the people of Gaza, calling for a firm stance to be taken against the ongoing crime in Gaza. HH the Amir stressed that is unacceptable to be satisfied with statements of denunciation "Rather, we must take deterrent steps to stop the ongoing war crime, in a way that will also project the weight and leverage of Islamic states. Israel's continuation of its aggression and committing crimes of genocide with such recklessness will not harm only Arab and Islamic national security, but also the national security of our countries," HH the Amir said.
HH the Amir raised the issue of the Palestinian people, which constitutes a top priority for the leadership and the people of Qatar. HH the Amir highlighted the suffering of our people in Gaza as they confront the ongoing Israeli aggression against them for 37 days. He identified the international reality and offered solutions at the Arab and Islamic level. HH the Amir stressed that the only sustainable solution to the issue of the Palestinian people is the establishment of their independent state and the full recognition of their rights, Al-Sharq concluded.
In its editorial titled "Word of Truth.. Firm Position," Al-Watan said that the Israeli entity has been tyrannical, arrogant and disdainful of all values, rules, international agreements and moral and humanitarian values. It has continued its brutal assault on innocents and civilians in Gaza by targeting medical and service facilities and forcing people to flee their homes under the threat of criminal bombardment that does not distinguish between children and the elderly.
In light of this painful scene, the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit was held in Riyadh yesterday. HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's address at the summit puts the entire world before its historical responsibilities regarding the crime that has been ongoing for 36th days consecutively in an area not exceeding 365 square kilometers, inhabited by 2.2 million Palestinians, in a gross violation of all humanitarian and moral norms, conventions and laws, most notably the Geneva Conventions, Al-Watan said.
HH the Amir stressed very clearly that the State of Qatar "is unflinching in its historical position in support of the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people and their just cause. We continue, with our partners in the region and the international community, to provide humanitarian aid and work to expedite its delivery to those in need," the paper added.
HH the Amir recalled the Israeli colonial policies which have thwarted all peace initiatives and even agreements and led to all these crises; stressing: "The international community's failure to oblige Israel to stop the ongoing crime during our meeting is a license to continue this disastrous approach."
HH the Amir's speech expressed honestly and courageously everything that is going on in the hearts of the Arabs and all those who love peace in the world. HH the Amir did not only warn of the consequences of what was happening, but rather called for practical steps by taking a firm stance on this crime, Al-Watan concluded.
English newspapers The Peninsula highlighted in its editorial the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh yesterday. HH the Amir has once again urged in a strongly worded speech the international community to play its part in immediate cessation of Israel’s illegal military operations in Gaza that has killed more than 11000 Palestinians mostly children and women.
In its editorial titled "Call for Global Action", The Peninsula said that Saudi Arabia hosted the extraordinary summit bringing together countries from the Islamic and Arab world to "unify efforts" on Gaza’s worsening situation.
In his powerful speech, HH the Amir said the international community "has failed to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities and take whatever action necessary to stop war crimes and massacres committed in the name of self-defense, and to put an end to this war of aggression." Since the war broke out between Hamas and Israel, Qatar has been making the best possible efforts for de-escalation and the Amir said Qatar is continuously supporting all regional and international diplomatic efforts for de-escalation, stemming the bloodshed, and protecting civilians, including making efforts in humanitarian mediation to release the hostages, The Peninsula noted.
The newspaper concluded by saying that HH the Amir reiterated Qatar’s demand of permanent and safe humanitarian corridors "for an unhindered and unconditional delivery of aid to those affected and afflicted, stressing the need to make the aid accessible to all parts of the Gaza Strip. (QNA)
