QCAA Hosts Seminar on Threat Assessment and Risk Management


 

Doha, November 14 (QNA) - The Interregional Seminar on Threat Assessment and Risk Management began today in Doha, hosted by Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA). The Seminar is jointly organized by the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), with the presence of more than 100 participants from 46 African and Arab States, organizations and industry stakeholders.
    During his welcoming speech at the Seminar, Acting President of QCAA Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri highlighted the necessity of intensifying cooperation in all countries and entities to build a strong aviation security system by strengthening efforts and capabilities and adopting the best practices to confront all challenges in civil aviation security. He also stressed the extent of the State of Qatar's commitment and its endeavor to unify visions and study more prospects for joint work in the field of aviation security with all organizations and bodies, in a way that serves the common interest of all, to achieve further accomplishments and opportunities that will lead the future of the global civil aviation sector to the better.
    The Seminar addresses several issues, including the best practices and effective measures in the field of threat assessment and risk management in aviation security, and enhance capabilities to confront all types of attacks. This is in addition to exchanging information and modern methods in this field and developing a common approach to deal with all threats and mitigating measures. It also focuses ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between concerned parties to confront the various threats to the aviation ecosystem and develop procedures for their continuous assessment.
